MathCounts is a national
organization
promoting
middle school mathematics and mathletes through
training and competition.
SASSDS has sent mathletes to
the
annual competition since 2000. The
competition takes
place in ascending stages: at the regional, state, and
national
levels. The annual national winners of MathCounts meet the
President of the United
States, and gets lots of attention and prizes, including
college
scholarships.
Last year's final was televised and shown on ESPN! It is
the
premier
middle school mathematics competition in the United States.
